ABOUT ME: My name is Shannon Sloan Thomas, and I currently reside in Denham Springs, Louisiana with my husband and two small children. I am originally from the New Orleans area, but moved to Baton Rouge in 1995 to attend LSU. My husband is from Kerala, India.

I am employed in the direct mail industry, but enjoy creating charcoal portraits as a side business. I have a bachelor's degree in Business Management, but my talent is God-given and has been passed down through the women in my family for at least 4 generations. It is something that I greatly enjoy. I also do oil portraits of people, pets, and houses, but due to having a separate career and small children, I am unable to offer oil painting services on my Web site at this time. Though I do not have the type of imagination that allows me to create abstract art, I am able to create artwork from what I can visually see. This enables me to produce life-like portraits -- not simply because I can draw , but rather because of the way I see things. Babies and children are my favorite subjects, but I enjoy drawing people of all ages, pets, and have done several houses and churches in pencil as well.
